Completely agree. They could add three layers to a piece:
1. Mesh layer (defines the shape of that piece)
2. Paint layer 1 (lets the user paint the plane)
3. Paint layer 2 (lets the user add custom paint based on HTML code or draw lines using specific colors)

Yes! Very good suggestion! It could remove a layer of difficulty for newer/inexperienced players who are not good at designing aircraft (Cosmetic wise) This would make it easier for them, because now they wouldn't have to create a new part every time they would want to paint in a specific area (Such as a logo). I think this is a Wonderful suggestion!

I agree.But there is a problem.Game engine can't apply multiple colors on one mesh.So,you can paint control supfaces separately cuz this is a separate mesh counting as one part.

i think being able to not just fill but brush on paint would add awesome camouflage to aircraft and reduce lagging due to having huge amounts of parts

Yes, but not just a custom brush. but also painting tape for this! (so you don't paint where you don't want to) like real planes. love the idea!

I'd like to see a feature where we can paint blocks with patterns such as checkered, striped, camouflage, and have stickers for the planes that can be imported.

Also a straight line tool for straight lines across wings and fuselage pieces as well as a paint mirror tool.
