Some wishes for new SP2
About Camera Controls:
- In SimplePlanes 1, you could drag the right mouse button while the simulation was paused to adjust the camera position. This feature is currently unavailable in SimplePlanes 2.
- Please add an additional method to freely move the camera along the X, Y, and Z axes (without rotation) when the pilot is seated or when using other viewports. A similar camera movement system exists in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and X-Plane 11, which would be ideal to reference.
About Undo and Redo Operations:
· The Undo function in SP1 is difficult to use for minor corrections. It often reverts several steps back instead of just the most recent one.
· The Redo function has the same issue.
· Consider implementing an editable action history list, similar to Photoshop, allowing users to directly select and jump to a specific earlier state.
About the Overload System & Variables:
- Please significantly improve the Overload and Variables interface. · In SP1, these windows are visually unappealing and cumbersome for coding. They should be enlarged and designed to resemble a proper Integrated Development Environment (IDE). · To enhance the coding experience, introduce real-time code suggestions (similar to IntelliSense or Clang-based tools). · Object-oriented coding is not intuitive for most users. Consider supporting a procedural scripting style instead of relying only on alternative variables and cumbersome XML.
About User Interface:
- The current UI appears less mature and creative compared to SP1. It requires a more thoughtful, streamlined, and professional design—akin to the aesthetic of MSFS 2020.
- Please replace the low-quality and simplistic static image on the loading screen immediately.
About the Map System:
- Introduce a comprehensive map system similar to X-Plane 11, allowing easy adjustment of altitude, heading, and speed, as well as the ability to search for locations and set them as spawn points.
About the Autopilot System:
- Expand autopilot capabilities beyond simply maintaining heading and altitude (like CWS). It should be able to follow a predefined route or specific parameters such as heading, altitude, vertical speed, and Indicated Airspeed (IAS).
About Railways:
- Add more train stations and expand railway networks for player-created trains. Consider introducing dedicated railway components in the vehicle designer. This would encourage creativity, much like what was possible in SimplePlanes 1 with the SPR plugin.
About Graphics Quality:
- For users with high-performance systems, please add an advanced graphics option to significantly enhance lighting, shading, and texture quality, providing a more visually immersive experience.
