Smupiter altitude challenge
Seems simple enough, and based on my experiences escaping from SOI should be neigh impossible.
It would also push rocket builders to the limit; it takes careful design to prevent the rocket from crushing itself prior to takeoff, careful balancing of thrust to prevent it accelerating too fast in atmos, thruster positioning to prevent it ripping itself apart... I can land anything, anywhere and if its an inner smanet, return my budding little commies back home again too, but i can't push past 3k above the surface.
And I know of only one redditor who has achieved 10k, and he's…

A "help" section, or an active reddit/r/simplerockets plugin in-game.
I oftentimes find myself confused on where to find the latest and greatest news on the game, and finding peoples recommended rockets can be very challenging. Maybe a dedicated "share" and "help" menu could be added? You know, browse the forum from within the app, and view and download other users rockets to try them out for yourself, or modify them and call them your own.

Modify the ship editor to allow a "copy and paste" function.
Modify the ship editor to allow a "copy and paste" function for ship sections. This would speed up large builds enormously! Perhaps by dragging or building the desired section into a box area at the side of the screen, then a button to 'print' replicas.

Super Parts
Nuclear Reactor. A Nuclear Reactor would function like a Battery Compartment or Super Capacitor but be SUPER heavy (despite being the size of the Sloshy T 1500) never need Recharging and Recharge Battery Compartments and Super Capacitors.
Plazma Drive (misspelling on purpose). Plazma Drive would be a ridiculously heavy and powerful Engine consuming Fuel and/or Power at equally ridiculous rates. It would not be compatible with a Nuclear Reactor. (perhaps because of instability over 60% output?) I have a name in mind for it; Thunderstorm 6000. It's description; Experimental high output Engine. Details Top Secret.
Super Huge Fuel Tank. A…

add RCS thrusters to move ship wile engins are off
Its a truble moveing your ship with only the ships engines and can mess up you orbits and trjectorytrjectory

More parts
Add fins for stability and RCS. More rockets and maybe a campaign mode where you have to do research to unlock new parts.

Make a zoom slider
Make a slider under the "unlock heading" button, or under the warp buttons.

Add a button to center focus on the body you are orbiting
Would make some zoomed in orbiting easier to see.

Add a 'Details' button information about each part.
For example: once clicked an overview tab would come showing the key info on an item, such as it's mass, This would be good for the engines as it could also show the rate at which they burn fuel. i.e. Blasto 425 burns at 125 L/s @100%.
maybe. just an idea

Add an Orion Nuclear Pulse Engine
Add a Orion Nuclear Pulse Engine, that is fast, but heavy, not as manuverable as regular liquid engines, can't use liquid fuel (add new tanks for nuclear bombs, but they should be heavier and bigger than a normal liquid fuel tank) and you can't land with it ( because you can't land with an engine using nukesas propellants ,unless you want to land in an pile of dust, that was a planet before your arrival ) and if you try, the ship will explode

Add the ability to record control inputs as breadcrumbs for playback, iterative trajectory improvement, and ghost racing
First off, way awesome game!! And very awesome of Andrew to be so involved in the community of enthusiastic users. Thanks!!! Now on to my idea: simple concept of recording a mission by saving the history of all control inputs as "bread crumbs". If a user wanted to improve upon a prior flight path, they could start by playing back the breadcrumb file, then at some point touch the controls to start flying manually again. Thus you could keep tweaking and optimizing your flight trajectory without having to start from scratch every time. Also, you could use this to implement…

Toggle wheels - rotatable/locked
Like the title states i would like to have the wheels locked until a stage activates them, or be able to toggle it on or off. It would also be nice to toggle landing gear.

Apollo 11 Challenge
Go to moon, orbit, disconnect landing module, Land on moon, blast off, connect to orbiting boster, and back to earth and land with a parachute.

Add an icons only option to the ship build screen
Since SR is only used in portrait, the names of the build items take up half the screen. After you've played a few times, the icons are all that's needed to identify the items. It would alleviate having to move the ship around as much while in the build stage.

Adding a map or similar would be good.
I often play this with my daughter, she likes to try on her own, is there a map on the game or could one be added?

Make the parachute not tear off as easily.
Increase the strength of parachutes when they connect to something, they tear off at 125m/s, which normally you'd have it survive.

Add an on/off button for thrust
It may be that I'm just stupid, but after pressing the transition button and the next stage of rockets come on I quite often accidentally press the transition button again if I need to cut the rockets.
It would be really handy to have a cutoff button near the thrust slider, just to make it nice and clear.

add a mission builder.
Where you can build simple missions
1) Pick what planet to launch from
2) Pick what planet the player must get to
3) Pick what to do at that planet (orbit or land)
4) Choose how to rate performance (Time or Fuel usage)24 votes
