  1. Allow parts to connect to more than one other.

    When building a large rocket it is hard to determine which object my current selection should connect to. A confirmation box (a box with tick/crosses for valid edges, greyed out for no connectivity) of which edges need to be connected. If one edge is only possible then the confirmation message could be ignored (nose cone). This idea could also be used to sharing fuel tanks so you could make 1 big tank for an engine either horizontally, vertically or both.

    This will add rigidity to tall rockets where there is only one connecting edge at the top of the segment.

  2. Part Damage

    Basically, the way guns work right now seems to destroy the whole plane in a couple hits, I think it would be more interesting if part damage was a thing. Basically, if a wing was hit its drag would increase for that wing only, making flight more difficult, if it hit any part with fuel it would leak (or explode if damage was high enough), if a part with animations (landing gears, rotators and air flaps) the animations would play slower, making landing difficult, and if an engine was hit, it would burn and produce less thrust.   3. "Manned" space flight

    Give us an astronaut in the capsule in sandbox mode. Let us take him to the smoon and other smplanets to walk around, etc. We could keep track of his accomplishments. Try and build his career. If the unfortunate happens and he doesn't make it home from a mission? Would add extra considerations for aborting missions, potentially forcing decision points for his safe return.

  5. Space stations and other orbiting objects

    I think that it would be realy cool to create docking stations and being able to have more than one rocket out at a time (You know, switching between them at a tracking station) I realise this would be too close to KSP, but it would be very cool.

  6. Add a cargo bay part to hold rovers, etc.

    A large box shaped part in which you can put your rover so when you land it opens up and the rover comes out.
    make it so you can shut the cargo door and fly back with the rover.

    I believe we need a thingy that can flung chunks of kaboom to a distance of far away.

    Key features: recoil animation, simple model, muzzle blast, explosive ammo.

    Useful for: Tanks, ships, armoured vehicles, early attack aircraft.

    This is one of the few components we can't make with existing parts, as all three known systems have great shortcomings.

  13. Show trajectory in different SOI

    Would be useful for lunar/interplanetary trips. The ability to see your periapsis in an encounter before arriving at the SOI, being able to see your trajectory around the sun while still in a planet's SOI (for making use of the oberth effect). This would also allow accurate slingshots.

    In order to accurately plan maneuvers, every rocket navigator needs two crucial numbers:
    1) Velocity change available (deltaV), the rocket's range (sort of)
    2) Thrust-to-weight ratio (TWR), how fast the rocket can accelerate

    Knowing how much deltaV is left, a pilot can calculate which orbits, moons, or planets are within reach. Knowing the TWR, a pilot can predict whether his rocket can overcome gravity to safely take-off or land.

    Such as a construction base satellite. Once in orbit and activated, it will appear on the planets list. Giving you the ability to build and launch a ship straight from the satellite!

  20. Make New Parts/Astronauts/Space Stations

    New parts list:

    Docking Port: Reattach to this. Can be used on space stations, possibly used for refueling.

    RCS Thrusters: Help maintain balance when landing

    Biofuel Systems: Can be tanks, engines, anything. It would just be a cool way to travel because you could generate fuel.

    Base supplies: Can be carried and placed on planets. Everyone wants bases and space stations to go to!

    Astronauts: Can get out and walk around, interact with rovers, bases, and everything else
